Invitations to go out soon

Hello everyone. Invitations/announcements will be going into the mail soon. Thanks to my mom and jr. bridesmaid Kailie for all their hardwork in stuffing envelopes. Check out the family blog here (ahh....isn't that cute) for information about the wedding. Some of it might be farther down the page, so I'll move it to the top. Hope to see you all in August. Now that it's July I can say that I'm getting married NEXT MONTH. Weird.

Happy 4th of July!

The proposal

Jeff officially proposed to me last night. I wrote all about it on our blog, so check it out here. I love this guy. And that's about as schmoozy as I'll get in the blog-o-verse.

NRPA Presentation

For those of you who read about the day the stars and planets aligned to make my life difficult back in January....this post is an update.

In January, I submitted an abstract of my thesis research to the National Recreation and Parks Association annual congress. I recently found out that it was accepted! Yay!!! The congress meets every year in a different place. This year it is being held in Salt Lake. Which is mighty convenient. I will be presenting a poster on October 14th (Wednesday) from 5-6:30. I would say that everyone should come...but it's just a poster presentation. And I'm pretty sure you'd have to pay to get in. It's not even free for members of NRPA.

So yeah. Good things. Have a great week!!!

The End of the First Semester

I survived my first semester of my PhD program. I would just like to thank the people in the following pictures: Gretchen and Pei-Chun (from my program) and Jill and Sarah (from the branch). These 4 ladies took me under their wings and showed me around and pretty much made sure I survived. Thanks guys!

Jada's First Haircut

In the Korean culture, you don't cut the baby's hair until after their 100-day birthday. Jada's hair had been growing really slowly on top, and more quickly in the back. So she had this kind of mullet thing. We decided it was probably best to just shave her head and let it all start out evenly. She was amazingly good throughout the process. Didn't shed a single tear and even had a smile. Now she has a buddhist monk-like look. I think she's cuter bald. But then again, my mom shaved my head every month and I was bald, too, until I was one.
